Electricity

Electricity is a form of energy that results from the movement of charged particles, primarily electrons, through a conductor such as a wire. It powers much of the modern world, from the lights in our homes to the devices we use daily. At its core, electricity involves the flow of electric charge, which can occur in two main forms  direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC). In DC, the electric charge flows in one direction, while in AC, the charge changes direction periodically. AC is the most common form of electricity used in homes and industries because it is more efficient for long-distance transmission.

The discovery and harnessing of electricity have revolutionized human civilization. Electric currents are generated in power plants using various methods, including fossil fuels, nuclear energy, or renewable sources like wind and solar power. Once generated, electricity travels through transmission lines to reach homes, businesses, and factories. Understanding electricity is fundamental to modern technology, as it powers everything from computers and smartphones to industrial machinery and transportation systems.
